A well-attended and very successful night at the Space Bar at Newcastle College for the Oxjam Music festival. Zak and Maxine played acoustic sets while our regular bands; None of the Above, The Distance and Little Buffalo Men also performed. We had a total of 15 performers, 14 boys and 1 girl. There were around 75 people in the audience, and we helped to raise a fantastic £1900 for Oxfam.

Another successful O2 academy bands night, featuring Maxine, None of the Above, Little Buffalo Men, Open Doors and Painted Skies. A total of 15 performers, 13 boys and 2 girls, and about 50 people in the audience.
Another successful event on Armstrong Bridge, this time with our new banner. One of our parents had suggested that we might be more successful in attracting attention and interest if we have a banner that does not get blown away with the wind (as our current one does!). Today, Emily and Cameron played for us, and either because their music was so good or because of the banner, raised a lot of money for City Youth Music. Again, about 50 people stopped by to listen.
The last of our sessions in the library and our most successful so far. We had six young people performing and about 12 young children join in, some of them returning week after week. These sessions have been particularly good, encouraging very young children to join in with the music, playing their own percussion instruments. In total, there were about 20 people listening, including children, parents and staff and a generous contribution was made towards library funds by some of the audience.
 Back in Jesmond library again. Our music is becoming popular with some of the library's young visitors. Three children turned up again to listen, one of whom had gone home last week to tell his father that he enjoyed playing the musical instruments and asked if he could come again. Emily and Daisy were playing, with Molly supporting them by holding the sheet music. These two musicians are really performing well together, their voices are beautiful and they were able to play us two lovely duets which they had been practising during the hour in the Catherine Cookson room. There were about 20 people listening in the library.
Another evening at Jesmond Cricket Club with Emily and Daisy. A slightly cooler evening and not so many people around tonight, maybe 30 adults and children, but the music was still enjoyed by everybody and a gentle soundtrack to the junior cricket training.
 Our second visit to Jesmond library in the summer holidays was very successful and becoming more popular: 5 boys and 4 girls, including Emily, Daisy and Issie again. Emily ran the session, gaining in confidence all the time. She organised the whole group, helped them to perform a song which included a good percussion beat, so that everyone could join in. Then came the performances, introduced by Emily: first the song performed by them all, followed by a song with Emily, Daisy and Issie. There were three families with young children watching, including 5 adults and 5 young children, as well as 8 other adults. All five of the pre-school children took a percussion instrument and joined in.
Another warm and enjoyable evening at Jesmond Cricket Club, playing music while the junior cricket team were in training. This time we had three girls playing, Emily, Daisy and Issie. Emily started by playing 4 songs, followed by Daisy who played another 5, Issie played 5 more, then Emily finished off. Although they have only met recently, the girls are enjoying playing together. There were about 50 people watching the cricket and enjoying the music.
