Ernest Ouseburn

Another new opportunity and new venue, Ernest in the Ouseburn.  A wonderful, relaxing, peaceful evening in the back room of the bar. 5 young people (Ethan, Zak and Alfie, Emily and Maxine) performed to an audience of around 10 people, with about 5 more having a look in from time to time, as well as potential others in the main bar area listening in without making themselves known. We hope that we can make this a regular event, showcasing young talent on a monthly basis.

Starbuck's Jesmond

The first of a new set of opportunities to perform in Jesmond, in Starbuck's on St George's Terrace.  Tonight we had Ethan and Zak, on accordian and guitar.  There were about 15 people in the cafe, listening.  Austin was in line to play the saxophone, though opted out with pre-gig nerves.  We plan to be back at Starbuck's again soon, with some new performers and perhaps a return of Austin!

O2 Young Bands

Our most recent big gig at the O2 academy was a huge success, with over 200 people in the audience. We had 4 amazing young bands perform; Little Buffalo Men, the Flat Stanleys, Open Doors, and Divine Crown. Altogether 17 young people, 16 boys and one girl, performed and every one put on a great show.
Our survey of a sample the audience indicated that the majority of our audience were from Heaton (perhaps due to two of the four bands also coming from that region) with Jesmond the second most represented region. The largest age group was 15-18, showing that the bands attracted a real following, not just family members.
Overall the gig was very well received and enjoyed by audience and bands alike, and we hope to continue to put on performances of this standard.
