As thanks for allowing our young musicians to use the Catherine Cookson room for free throughout the summer holidays, we held a fundraising concert for local residents. Unfortunately this coincided with the junior Great North Run, so many of our young musicians were unavailable. However, four musicians entertained us and 17 people turned up to listen. In addition, there were about 20 residents, including a couple of young families, in the library. Some of the young children came in to listen, maybe prospective musicians of the future. Three of the four musicians were from North Jesmond, 11 of the 17 members of the audience were from North Jesmond.
