We have decided that we will hold two fundraisers each year, the proceeds going to support funding of our bigger gigs. We expect that the families of our young performers will support these fundraisers. This time, our fundraiser featured music from The Parish with a pie an pea supper, held at Newcastle Cricket Club. We also had a wonderful raffle, with prizes donated by many local businesses. The fundraiser was very successful, we raised just over £280. Thanks to everyone for your support!

As part of the Jesmond Community Festival, we put on a gig for bands under 13 at the Jesmond Cricket Club. Esme opened the night by singing Hallelujah and playing the piano, followed by some more upbeat songs from Maxine. We also had a band from Rock Project Juniors with famous rock songs throughout the ages, as well as the Distance, who played songs by Imagine Dragons and one of their own compositions. Overall the venue was quite full, with around 80 people coming to listen. Ten young people performed.
Once again at Jesmond Cricket Club, the night was opened by Chloe Fisher, followed by the Senior Rock Project. Next we had The Earnest Search who had stepped in last minute because one of the original bands had dropped out. Ending in a improvised Jazz, blues jam with the headlining band Big Nothing. This lead perfectly onto our main band of the night. Around 100 people made up the audience and 10 young people played.
Our regular Young Bands Night as part of Jesmond Festival, 2013, once again held at Jesmond Cricket Club. There were 3 bands performing: Twisted Fate, The Rock Project Band and James, Bertie and Iain. In total there were about 30 performers and 130 people in the audience. A barbecue was provided and as usual, the event was very successful.
