We have decided that we will hold two fundraisers each year, the proceeds going to support funding of our bigger gigs. We expect that the families of our young performers will support these fundraisers. This time, our fundraiser featured music from The Parish with a pie an pea supper, held at Newcastle Cricket Club. We also had a wonderful raffle, with prizes donated by many local businesses. The fundraiser was very successful, we raised just over £280. Thanks to everyone for your support!

More tunes from Ethan and Zak this month, with Erin joining in with a couple of songs. These
sessions have not been very popular with our young musicians, as it can be quite lonely in the back room, and so this will probably be our last outing in the Oxfam shop. Around 5 people stopped to listen.
Two of our young musicians were asked to perform at the opening of an art exhibition at the
Holy Biscuit. This was a good opportunity for us to advertise the group with our new standing banner and collection tin. Approximately 60 people attended and enjoyed the folk music. We had 4 people this time, and continued with the Whitby song, learning some more interesting guitar chords. Three musicians were from North Jesmond, and approximately 10 North Jesmond residents were in the library.
The second session of our performance workshops. Once again the workshops concentrated on voice coaching, confidence and performance skills. The workshops were organised by the Newcastle Rock Project and were attended by 10 young people.
Only 4 people again this week, we learned a folk song from Whitby and started to get a good arrangement worked out. Three musicians were from North Jesmond, and approximately 10 North Jesmond residents were in the library.
